Good Girl Gone Bad
YEAR: 2024
ROLES: CREATIVE DIRECTOR + WARDROBR STYLIST + SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT
Overview
“Good Girl Gone Bad” is a fashion editorial inspired by the dark, rebellious energy of Rihanna’s Rated R era. The concept explores the moment a woman sheds expectations of who she is supposed to be and embraces a more fearless, unapologetic version of herself. Set within a seductive world of black, red, and shadow, the story captures femininity at its most defiant, mysterious, and powerful, marking the transition from the “good girl” into a woman entirely in control of her own identity.
DIrection
The creative direction was inspired by the visual attitude of Rihanna’s Rated R era and the idea of the “good girl gone bad.” I wanted every element of the shoot to reflect a shift into something darker, bolder, and more rebellious, building a character who felt confident, dangerous, and completely in control.
I directed the set around a rain soaked environment, using water, darkness, and intense red lighting to create a mood that felt raw, dramatic, and emotionally charged. Rather than treating the rain as simply an effect, I wanted the model fully immersed in it, using her posing and movement within the water to heighten the feeling of transformation and release.
The styling was developed to exist naturally within that world. I incorporated dark, body conscious pieces, sheer textures, leather, metallic jewelry, statement boots, and edgy accessories to balance femininity with rebellion. Black hair with vivid red highlights tied the beauty direction back into the red lighting and overall palette, creating cohesion between the model and her surroundings. Together, the set, lighting, styling, beauty, and posing created a complete world where the character feels as though she has fully stepped into her darker side.
