Overview
“Session 33” is a fashion editorial inspired by the intimate world of Summer Walker’s Session 32 and the visual identity of her Over It era. The concept takes the vulnerability and late night intimacy associated with her music and translates it into a feminine bedroom setting that feels personal, moody, and confessional. Designed as my own continuation of that world, Session 33 captures a woman alone with her thoughts, surrounded by the softness, emotion, and attitude of an R&B album cover.
DIrection
I developed the creative direction by pulling from different elements of Summer Walker’s visual identity. Session 32 served as the foundation for the concept, while the Over It album cover influenced the wardrobe and character styling. I built the set around an immersive pink bedroom, incorporating layered bedding, fur textures, vinyl records, wall art, personal objects, and neon lighting to make the space feel lived in and connected to the world of the music.
For the wardrobe, I styled the model in a monochromatic hot pink look with statement fur, layered jewelry, and strappy heels, drawing from the bold femininity and early 2000s influence of the Over It cover. I carried the pink palette throughout the wardrobe, set, props, and lighting so every element felt connected. The posing and character direction were intentionally more intimate and introspective, creating the feeling of catching her during a private late night “session” rather than simply posing inside a bedroom.
