Overview
“Summer’s Over Interlude” is a fashion editorial created in collaboration with the brand Cider, capturing the fleeting feeling of summer through a European-chic lens. Rooted in nostalgia, friendship, and the carefree spirit of a summer spent abroad, the concept follows a group of girls soaking in the final moments of the season before it slips away.
The editorial plays with the contrast between the warmth and spontaneity of summer and the bittersweet feeling of knowing it can’t last forever. Sun-soaked garden scenery, playful group moments, vintage-inspired accessories, and soft yet vibrant styling come together to create a world that feels like a memory from a European holiday. Romantic, effortless, and slightly nostalgic.
Rather than simply celebrating summer, “Summer’s Over Interlude” serves as its final chapter: one last afternoon with your friends, one last reason to get dressed up, and one last moment to hold onto before the season changes.
DIrection
I wanted to move away from traditional summer imagery and create something more refined, romantic, and editorial, drawing from the ease and nostalgia of a European summer getaway. Using Cider’s pieces, I was intentional about building looks that felt individual while still belonging to the same story. I coordinated recurring shades of butter yellow, soft blue, cream, brown, and white throughout the wardrobe, using color, accessories, and styling details to create cohesion across the four models.
The setting, posing, and composition were designed to feel like one final summer afternoon shared between friends, capturing the intimacy and effortless glamour of the season before it ends. I carried that storytelling into the final hero shot by leading the graphic direction and transforming the group portrait into a fashion magazine cover. The cover lines, typography, and overall layout were designed to make “Summer’s Over” feel like its own seasonal issue, reinforcing the idea of the project as an ode to summer and a final editorial snapshot of the season.
