Black Women Are Royalty
YEAR: 2026
ROLES: CREATIVE DIRECTOR + WARDROBE STYLIST + MOVEMENT DIRECTION + SET DIRECTION + SOCIAL MEDIA + POST PRODUCTION
“Black Women Are Royalty” is a visual celebration of Black femininity, resilience, and power. This shoot was meant to depict that, despite the chaos black women navigate in the world, Black women continue to stand gracefully, beautifully, and unapologetically powerful. This shoot serves as a reminder that no matter what surrounds black women, our crowns never slip
Overview
DIrection
The concept was built around Black women reclaiming and embodying their inherent power. I directed the story through styling, posing, graphic elements, and overall mood to create a world that felt regal, feminine, powerful, and emotionally grounded. Gold became a defining element of the styling, carried throughout the wardrobe, jewelry, body adornments, nails, and accessories to create cohesion between both women and reinforce a sense of royalty and strength.
I also directed the final compositions around the idea of remaining firm while chaos unfolds around us. The posing was intentionally poised, commanding, and composed, while the surrounding effects create movement and disruption. That contrast became essential to the story. Rather than allowing the chaos to overpower the women, they remain at the center of it, unwavering and in control. Every element was designed to reinforce the idea that our beauty, grace, and power remain intact regardless of what surrounds us.
